Interference detection radiometer

BEST developed a special radiometer for interference detection in the vicinity of the 22.235 GHz water vapor absorption line. The Interference detection radiometer receives signals in two circular polarizations, right and left hand. These are processed in two independent receivers and converted to the intermediate frequency band of 0.6 to 1.6 GHz on the radiometer output.

The digital end was developed by our customer, Aerospace Corporation.

The radiometer fits within 2U on a CubeSat. Aperture size is limited by the overall instrument size requirement. The half power antenna beamwidth is 12.5°.
